As you know, the number of freelancers in our country and around the world is steadily growing. There is just one “but”: not all employers have the right idea about freelancers and cooperation with them. Quite a few people think that freelancers are students who don’t know much, but are ready to work for pennies. That’s why they treat us accordingly. But when you dive into the world of freelancing, you realize that there are many highly qualified specialists among freelancers.
Why is it more profitable for companies to work with freelancers than to hire additional employees?
1. A freelancer knows how much money he needs to earn per month, per week, per day, per hour. Therefore, he strives to work as efficiently as possible, with minimal delays. We, like no one else, know that time is money!
2. If you need a specialist for a specific task or a specific project, it is better to hire a freelancer. Firstly, it will be cheaper than hiring a full-time employee who will receive the same salary regardless of workload. And secondly, you will avoid rumors about staff turnover, which usually arises if an employer frequently hires and then fires employees.
3. Working on a project within a clearly defined time frame also helps you work more efficiently. It is not for nothing that there is a saying in freelance circles that the best inspiration is a deadline (for non-English speakers: deadline = deadline).
4. As a rule, we specialize in clearly defined areas. For example, I do not do any translation, but specifically marketing, and I work with a fairly narrow range of topics that I understand well. Therefore, we, freelancers, become real experts in our field.
5. You don’t have to make your choice based solely on geographic location. After all, you may not find the specialist you want in your city. The good thing about freelancing is that it erases geographic boundaries, so you can choose the best specialist, not just the one who lives next door.
6. There is fierce competition in freelancing. We, like no one else, understand that if we stop developing ourselves, before we even know it, our colleagues will be far ahead. Therefore, freelancers are constantly improving, attending various lectures and training events, using all available means and opportunities for professional growth.
7. If the freelancer is also registered as an individual entrepreneur, you do not need to pay taxes for them. We pay them ourselves.
8. Often, a freelancer can share with you a fresh perspective on a problem that you have been trying to solve for a long time without success. We look at your company’s activities from the outside, impartially, and we are valued for such an independent opinion.
9. If you have a small company and your income is not as high as you would like, then the cost of renting premises, including office space, as well as other daily eexpensesisare probably very important to you. Therefore, many small companies are switching to remote work. At the same time, as already mentioned, your employees do not have to be in the same city as you. You can hire any specialist. The main thing is that the working conditions suit both parties.
Well, there is one last point left – number 10. I want to leave it to your discretion. I am looking forward to your comments on the topic of why it is more convenient and profitable for modern companies to hire freelancers!
